Portrait of Mira at her desk

I am Mira — one person with a flat in Yishun, a window that faces the park connector, and a habit of writing logs when the day leaves something unresolved. Echo Nest is not a brand, a studio, or a service. It is where I put paragraphs that would otherwise live only in phone notes and margin scribbles.

I moved to Blk 712 Yishun Street 71 after years of renting closer to town. The shift was practical — space, light, a canal path five minutes away — but it changed the texture of my writing. Neighbourhood detail replaced commute drama. Kopitiam mornings replaced café laptops. I edit freelance copy by day and return to these logs by lamplight.

My walks follow a small circuit: canal toward Khatib, bus stop 59071, wet market stairs on weekends, void deck bench when rain threatens. I do not chase novelty. I repeat routes until they reveal something I missed the first twelve times — a folded timetable corner, a heron on mud bank, an uncle feeding pigeons with ceremonial patience.

Echo Nest began as a folder on my desktop labelled nest because I lacked a better word for safekeeping. The name stuck. Readers sometimes ask whether the site connects to audio gear or productivity tools. It does not. Nest here means the corner of table where notebooks stack — nothing more commercial than that.

One log carries more weight than the others — an evening near Chin Swee Road on 12 November 2025. I treat it like any other entry in the archive: same card shape, same typography, no banner calling it special. It sits at the root URL because that is where I want direct visitors to land, not because it needs a spotlight.

I write in first person because third person would feel performed. If a sentence sounds like marketing, I delete it. If it sounds like therapy-speak, I delete it faster. The voice I trust is plain, warm, willing to admit uncertainty — especially about nights I did not fully understand.

Contact details are real but quiet. I read every message sent through the Write page and reply when I can, usually in evenings SGT. I do not maintain a mailing list or comment section. Conversation happens by email, one note at a time, which suits the scale of this project.

Disclaimer. This is a personal blog. Everything here reflects my own experiences, opinions, memories and impressions. Notes are personal reflections, not professional, medical, legal, financial or news reporting advice. Where a note touches a serious event nearby, I only describe what I heard or saw from my end of the street — never as reporting. If I have got something wrong, please tell me and I will fix it.
